Sustainable Poetry är ett världsprojekt (eTwinning -partners) som öppnar upp för en internationell dimension i undervisningen. Barn och unga är en del i ett större sammanhang – en global gemenskap – där de får lära sig om hållbarhet och samtidigt, genom demokratiska kreativa lärprocesser, bidra till ett gemensamt lärande och utveckling för hållbarhet såväl lokalt som globalt. Deras världsbild vidgas, de får syn på att allt är sammanflätat och ökar sin medvetenhet kring exempelvis hur viktig samarbetsförmågan är för samskapandet av en hållbar framtid.
Att arbeta med poesi och de globala målen i undervisningen utifrån ett critical literacy-perspektiv syftar till att stärka elevernas förståelse och kunskap om världen, stärka språklig mångfald och elevernas empowerment (röst och handlingskompetens) samt utveckla 21 Century Competencies med förmågor som exempelvis kritiskt tänkande, kreativitet, samarbete och kommunikation. I arbetet vävs således värdegrundsuppdraget och kunskapsuppdraget samman så att eleverna ges möjlighet att utvecklas till trygga medmänniskor som kan styra sitt lärande, är aktiva medskapare i undervisningen och engagerade och ansvarsfulla världsmedborgare.

We are so happy to be here again, third year in a row! We’re sure we’ll be making lots of wonderful and thought-provoking poetry in the months to come! Congratulations om your 100th anniversary! Serbia is a young democratic country but we do hope we’ll have something to say about it too.

Under hösten har elever på Söderslättsgymnasiet i Trelleborg för tredje året i rad samskapat med elever på Uzicka gimnazija i Serbien och elever på IIS ”E.Ferrari”, Chiaravalle i Italien. De har skickat personliga digitala hälsningar till varandra, delat med sig av hur de arbetar med Sustainable Poetry på olika sätt i skolan samt delat dikter med varandra.
Nästa termin utvecklas samskapandet ytterligare med bland annat gemensamt diktskapande och firandet av Världspoesidagen den 21 mars 2022. Årets tema är demokrati. Eleverna får gemensamt utforska hur det står till med demokratin i världen och skapa nya framtidsbilder genom att göra sina röster hörda för demokratins utveckling och framtid.
Empowered
I have this feeling that comes from the depths of my heart
That makes me go after what I want
So strong yet so sweet
Makes me feel complete
Looking through the window’s glass
Wind sways the green grass
I see something beautiful in the rain
And the way it eases my pain
Because when I’m feeling down
I find a spark in my frown
And cry the words out
I try to cure my doubt
White paper collects my screams
Blue sky takes care of my dreams
And everyone tells me all the time
To be careful with this heart of mine
But I know I can’t keep it in a cage
Till I get to an old age
Because if I don’t use my creativity
It will escape from its captivity
And make some change in this world
And say something nobody’s ever heard
I have this feeling and it’s stabbing me like a knife
But it makes me fall in love with life
Calms me down and cleans my soul
Fireworks and fire without any control
Two eternal beings that think like one
Keeping their secret and hiding from the sun
Helping each other find the day in the night
Learning what’s wrong and what’s right
Along the way finding the night in the day
Still knowing that they need to stay
Together on this mission
Having only hope and ambition
I have this feeling, it’s always there
And it’s very precious and rare
I will never feel lonely
Maybe for a few seconds only
There is life and death
Everything has its last breath
But when you have this feeling
Miraculous and healing
Time doesn’t bother you anymore
There is so much to explore
Be careful, don’t be lazy
Tommorow you won’t be as fresh as a daisy
Leave something else behind, not just your bones
To live forever, like earth and stones
Stop for a moment, look around
Listen to the sounds you make by walking on the ground
Search for it everywhere you go
Let your mind and heart grow
It could be in someone’s eyes
in your laughter or your cries
It’s free and it’s always there
You’ll never run out so feel free to share
The ups and downs and something between
Life’s like that and always has been
But that feeling will never leave
Only those who truly believe
How you call it doesn’t matter
Keep it as a secret, maybe even better
Endless sky in an immortal flower
That feeling is my power
